Another ICE STORM and A DAY OFF FROM SCHOOL!!!

Tuesday we started to get some freezing rain, my afternoon class at the college got canceled and then the school district canceled all the after school programs too. The weather was predicted to get worse as the night went on. Tuesday night as we went to bed they announced that school would be delayed, but when we woke up that morning school had be canceled for the whole day. We had about an 1/8 of an inch of ice. So what do you do on your bad weather day off?

1st you go and check out how much ice you have to see if you can slide around.

Then realize that it is only 19 degrees and its a little to0 cold to be outside and decide to go in and wait till it warms up a bit. ( I know we have become a little sensitive to the cold weather.)

Some of us play or work on the computer.
Some of us color or draw.
Some of us decided to cook.
Then some of us decided that it had warmed up enough to go outside and play. The gate was frozen shut we couldn't get it opened.
Sliding down the driveway is the best place for sliding.
Courtney wanted to go visit a friend, I told her if she would scrap the ice off the windows so that I could see when I drove I would take her. It took her about an hour to get enough off so that I could see. That was even with the defrost running for about 20 minutes. She was pretty determined to go and visit her friend.

Eight is Great and so is Kylie!!

I can't believe that my baby is turning eight next Friday. What a great and special birthday.
We are glad that Kylie has chosen to get baptized the day after her birthday. She is happy that both of her grandparents are going to be able to be here, for her birthday and for her baptism.

Here is the announcement we sent out, if you didn't get one, it may be because I don't have your correct e-mail address. Just know that any of our family and friends that would like to share this special day with Kylie are welcome to come.

(Sorry, the picture didn't fit as the blog place is making it fit funny. It says: Your invited to join us for the baptism of Kylie Chambers, February 7, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at the Frisco West Building)

Here are just a few (okay, a lot, I was having a hard time only picking a few) pictures of Kylie in the years before turning 8. Kylie, we feel so blessed to have you in our family. You bring us much joy and happiness. You were a happy baby and have been such a delightful child. Through all of your phases, the baby stage, riding your pink big wheel, the happy toddler stage, your friend Michael, your love of horses, Dora, Preschool with your friends, swimming, and just your happy face, we love you Kylie.

Quotes

Here are a couple of quotes that I found and thought I would share them with you.
In Primary this year we are focusing on the families. We as a Primary Presidency decided to spotlight the families in our ward. One of the questions that we asked on the spotlight questionnaire was, "What is your family quote or motto?" I left that one blank for now and I am trying to find a family quote that we could use. I think I really like this first one. I figure I have a little while that I can keep looking then maybe we well have a family vote on which one they would like to have as are family quote or motto.

We would love to have you share with us your family quote or motto.

New Years Eve!!

Tiffani and Courtney where out with their friends. Therefore Mike, Ashley, Kylie, and I had a game night. We played Jenga and Yahtzee. We had snacks, watched a movie and watched the ball come down New York Time.
Kylie's take on the evening," Is that all that happens? I thought the ball would explode or something really cool would happen." She decided that it wasn't worth staying up late to ring in the New Year.

Just as we got Ashley and Kylie in bed, Tiffani showed up with her friends at 12:05 to watch a movie. Crazy kids think they can stay up all night.

Look how high we got our Jenga tower.

Our normal New Years tradition is to go bowling then out for Chinese Food. This year when we went to eat at the Chinese restaurant, it wasn't open, so we opted for Mexican food. Then we went to go bowling and there was a huge line, so we played laser tag instead.
So we tried some new things for the New Year. We hope that you all have a great year ahead of you.
